Infection Screening and Treatment
Planned Parenthood of Alabama offers low-cost, prompt, screening and treatment for lower urinary tract infections, as well as yeast and other infections. If you think you have an infection, don't put off care. Call Planned Parenthood!
We also offer low-cost screening for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Methods of Birth Control
Planned Parenthood of Alabama offers many methods of birth control. Our experienced medical staff can help you select the method that's right for you. Some of the methods available at Planned Parenthood of Alabama include:
- The Pill (daily oral contraceptive)
- The Shot (3-month injection)
- The IUD (intrauterine device that can be used up to 10 years)
- Diaphragm (fitted barrier)
- The Ring (hormonal)
- The Patch (hormonal patch)

- Fertility Awareness (also known as the rhythm method, utilizing

Abortion Services
Planned Parenthood of Alabama's Centers in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile offer abortion services. We offer pregnancy tests and ultrasounds as well as pregnancy options counseling. All of Planned Parenthood of Alabama's Health Centers are licensed by the state of Alabama and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and our compassionate medical staff is specially trained to make your visit as pleasant as possible.
